Remembrance and forgetfulness, past and current. Mummified beings, celestial beings. As we look towards the galaxy and peer at the vastness of the immeasurable landscape, maybe the galaxy looks back to us at our deserts, and the mysteries they hold. Soil, rock, biology, it does not lie, yet we don’t know all of its meanings even within its truth. The history of suffering exists in these truths, right down to the calcium in our bones. Preserved in the soil and dust. Chile and its memories are mummified here, in the desert and the stars. I value Guzman’s tendency to incorporate natural and organic elements to memory and humanity.
